The bandoleros of the sinister Mateo kidnap the Papago girl Daana to resell her as a slave, setting their sights on an ancient Spanish medallion owned by the Indian. Tex and Carson intervene by chasing away the scoundrels and leaving them stranded in the middle of the desert, then they bring the girl back to her father, the sakem papago Manuelito. Daana's necklace, according to ancient stories, would lead to a fabulous treasure and the rangers follow its trail, discovering that the fabulous riches are now lost. And when the two gringos return from the expedition, they must face the wrath of Mateo and his vengeful henchmen.
