On the Mississippi, aboard the Dispatch, Tex and Carson capture some members of the gang of river pirates. Then, thanks to information from former pilot Mac Merrick, they avoid a trap orchestrated by Captain Travis in cahoots with his beloved, the beautiful Nadine. The girl, when cornered, reveals that the raiders are holed up on Spirit Island, inside a stranded boat. The rangers, supported by the sheriff of New Orleans Nat MacKennet, blow up the pirate hideout and capture the gang leader Mathieu to make him lie in front of everyone about the instigator, the vile shipowner Coleman!

Accepted by Pinkerton the task of cleaning up the Mississippi from pirates who sign their crimes with the Jolly Roger, the pards kill three thugs of the Skull Gang on the Majestic, financed by a river shipowner, the sinister Coleman, to unfairly eliminate the competition! And, seeing that one of the deceased hung out at the Perroquet in Baton Rouge, to get information the rangers swoop into the tavern, run by the disreputable Dad Gaston. At the end of a fight, Tex and Carson are approached by the beautiful waitress Nadine and lured into a trap on the mail boat to New Orleans.
