To escape the Blackfeet instigated by the henchmen of Caudill, a one-eyed man hired by the corrupt Canadian minister Fairbanks and his American financial handlers to sabotage a new railway, the pards and Sergeant Wilding, Jim Brandon's envoy, face the rapids of the Red River and end up besieged against a rock face! All seems lost, but the brave Flatheads of Fronte Alta rout the rebellious Indians and our heroes aim for the inn of the slimy Jean Morisse, where Wilding had been drugged to intercept Brandon's dispatch directed to Tex.

When Tex discovers why Na-Ta-Wah killed two soldiers and fled to the Black Mesa with his Mexican friend Mike Tuxedo, the sinister Sergeant Wolson can no longer lie about the misdeeds of his Yuma Policemen! Some time later, a group of shady Washington speculators in cahoots with a corrupt Canadian minister, determined to sabotage the project of a new transcontinental railway, incite the Blackfeet against the Stanford topographical expedition, led by Gros-Jean.
