For the Apaches he is the son of Manito, for the miners he is horror! He fires a ray weapon, uses a portable radar, came to Earth aboard a "small moon": who was the one who disappeared with a bang in a mine in Last Hope? The question remains without that answer which, probably, must be sought among the stars. The threat that grips Silver Bell is much less arcane: three thugs, the Rand brothers, have taken over the town, usurping the saloon, the only ranch and the sheriff's office! Tex's colt restores order. Meanwhile, the railroad construction sites between Kansas City and El Paso are going through bad trouble

Once the Northern tribes have been pacified, Tex and Kit Willer attack the lair of the Great King, a fortified castle in the middle of a lake. Kit is captured and, to free him, Tex attacks the manor at the head of an Indian army. Abandoned by everyone, the mad Black Leopard commits suicide by blowing up his lair. Much further south, in the Valley of the Moon, the miners of Ben Rufus, Tex's friend, are terrorized by a horrid humanoid creature: the monster, enticing the Apaches with a sort of freeze-dried alcohol, exploits them to extract deadly radioactive green rocks from the bowels of the earth!
