The massacre at the Feldmeier ranch in Arizona begins a long manhunt. The sheriff of Castle Creek points the finger at the black cowboy John Ware, while Tex and Carson follow the trail of blood that leads north, to reveal the identity of a mysterious vet and his murky genocidal past... No one knows the face of the Feldmeiers' brutal murderer, apart from John Ware, who was hired by the herdsman Tom Winch to drive and sell his steers in Canada... Charles Deadrick has gathered his former comrades to hunt down those cowboys, silence Ware forever and raid the rich herd... Even the Shoshones of Long Shadow are at risk, on the trail of the sadistic murderer, while Tex and Carson will have to follow the path of death leading to the culprit through the stormy weather of the Far North!
