Il Serpente Piumato

The fabulous treasure of Cuauhtémoc, the last defender of the capital of the Aztec empire from the lust for gold and blood of Cortés' soldiery, is a fascinating mystery of Mexican archaeology. A mystery which Professor Doberado wants to tear away the veils that envelop it. For this reason, Tex and Carson, at the invitation of governor Montales, cross the border and reach the state of Chihuahua... The search for the Cuahutémoc treasure map leads Tex, Carson and Professor Doberado to what remains of the ancient mission of San Xavier. Taking possession of the precious document, however, does not mean having reached the goal, quite the opposite... As often happens, it is precisely at the end of the journey that the worst pitfalls hide, perhaps represented by a man who most consider an illustrious protector of pre-Columbian art, such as the excellent Mister Buchanan, director of the Mexican Art Institute... The hunt for the legendary treasure of Cuahutémoc ends on the island of Tiburón! Having penetrated the stone bowels of the great Feathered Serpent, Tex and Carson, providentially aided by the Yaquis of Naco, manage to defeat a group of ruthless enemies, as well as save an immense archaeological heritage from the aims of the greedy Buchanan and the clique of businessmen who thrived in the shadow of the "respectable" Mexican Art Institute!
