While Buffalo Bill Cody, Annie Oakley and the other artists stage the Wild West Show in New Orleans, the Maestro blackmails the city with bomb attacks. The disfigured scoundrel is supported by "Ladykiller" Thorson, a titanic black killer of women, by "Squeezy" Greer, a skilled contortionist capable of sneaking into anything, and by the young Lund. Using a shadow theater as cover, the criminals plan a deadly prank for the opening of Cody's show, in which Carson also participates: they replace the blank bullets with real ones!
