Poncha Spring has its roots in the blood of a vile extermination of Pawnee that happened ten years earlier! The founders of the town, the notables and the sheriff are united in the criminal pact signed with the rich James Gettinger, who built his villa right on the cemetery of the Red Indians. Having arrived in the city to shed light on the end of Nachite and Labbro Tagliato, who witnessed the massacre as a child, Tex and Carson delve into the shady affair. One of the massacres, Bilding, Nachite's employer, is "committed suicide" by his own cronies, for fear that he will reveal everything in the grip of remorse

The network of conspirators against the President is unraveling. In Washington, where the leaders of the conspiracy are gathered in a luxurious hideout, Allan Pinkerton knocks on their door presenting the bill. Some time later, Nachite and his cousin Labbro Tagliato take the train to reach their friend Tex in Canon City, forced to travel on the freight wagon! The wagon containing the two Indians is thus detached by some scoundrels and crashes into a ravine! Later, Nachite's widow tells Tex that Labbro Tagliato had recognized who was leading the Pawnee massacre that took place ten years earlier in Mariposa Creek.
