Venice, year 1902. The bell tower of San Marco suddenly collapses; the investigation into the incident established that it was a simple structural failure. But at the mysterious base of "Elsewhere" they know that it didn't go like that at all: the fall of the bell tower was caused for criminal purposes by a sinister organization. On the orders of the President of the United States Theodore Roosevelt, the agents of the base are mobilized to fight a threat that has its roots in the remote past of Venice, when the lagoon was dominated by an island later mysteriously swallowed by the sea... To help the agents of "Elsewhere" in foiling the conspiracy, which endangers the stability of the whole of Europe, an exceptional collaborator intervenes: Gabriele D'Annunzio!
