Executors usually have an easier time filling the sad office than Mister Bluff. Willy Stark, dying, asks that the old beard be in charge of his last wishes, which consist of giving his daughter a treasure map. And here the surprises begin, because the girl has been kidnapped by the Shoshones and to find her there is nothing else to do but risk, in the absence of a scalp, the sumptuous beard. The second surprise is that in the hiding place indicated on the map there is only Heavy John's belt, and the last one... well, the last one is one you would never expect!
