Former Army Captain Bert Knight plans to burglarize, with the help of eight hired accomplices for the occasion, the entire town of Canyon City where Ken and Pat arrive to track down Muriel Chaze, mother of the Pat. It so happens that Mrs. Chaze's address matches that of Knight's home...
Having failed in her attempt to track down her mother, Pat returns to original plan: to buy (or found) a ranch. But her nest egg (which is already not a big deal) ends up in the hands of a crook. To try to recover some money, Ken accepts an unusual offer: to become a professional boxer.
