Nick, in a bar, witnesses a scene of jealousy between two lovers. The Black Cross is a criminal organization at the service of criminals: it assists them, helps them escape, treats them. Nick Raider, injured in a firefight, takes advantage of the situation to try to defeat the organization from within, pretending to be a robber in need of immediate treatment.
