Beacon Motel, a modest place like many others to stop and sleep for a night. A regular customer, a simple stationery representative, and with the most common name one can have in an Anglo-Saxon country, John Smith, is found dead in room 103. Nick and Marvin, called to the crime scene, discover, with Bowmann's help, that the victim was killed by a shot fired at point-blank range with a silenced .22 Caliber. But who could have wanted Smith dead, a mild and always kind person, methodical at work and of few words in life? Who had an interest in getting rid of an insignificant ordinary man?
