Trouble follows Nick Raider. On a trip with Violet to Egypt, Nick witnesses an attack and intervenes, also killing one of the hitmen. The aim, however achieved, of the attackers was to eliminate an important Swedish diplomat involved in the peace process between the Arab world and the Israelis. Violet also offers considerable help to local investigators with her photos. During the night, Nick is contacted by Reuben, an Israeli secret agent with whom he had already collaborated.
