The pharmaceutical company Human Research, after receiving a report of mechanical failures followed by complete radio silence from its Nemesis space laboratory, requests Nathan Never's intervention. Also on Nemesis is the scientist Chris Warren, nephew of the owner of the company, the elderly Edith.
