Strange dreams torment Nathan, bringing to mind the memory of Vlad Shreck and his search for eternal life, and forcing him to ask himself questions about his own existence; the same doubts about life and death also lurk among the silicon circuits of Aldus' "mind", who in the meantime manages to escape from the detention center, shortly before the trial.
