A girl with no memory has found refuge in Martin Mystère's house. Maria Ossowiecki is a girl with strong extrasensory powers. A group of unscrupulous men kidnapped her to let her examine a mysterious stone sarcophagus recovered after the Second World War in Yemen. Upon contact with the sarcophagus, however, a new personality takes possession of her body and causes her to flee. Meanwhile, under Martin's astonished eyes, Java is pushed by an unknown force to buy an ancient (and very expensive) statuette at auction!
