Buffalo, Wyoming, 1861. Ken a seventeen-year-old full of desire to live and carefree, becomes a courier for the Pony Express almost by chance. His first trip, thanks to an intrigue linked to a mineral deposit not yet claimed, will transform into a picaresque and light-hearted saraband of characters, situations, twists and gags.
At the end of the adventure, Jed Parker gives his son "grandfather's rifle", or rather the legendary Long Rifle that Ken will carry with him for the rest of his life... at least until he ends up in prison.
