Cash-strapped Ken remembers the proposal made to him by Ned Buntline, publisher of dime novels (see "Il grande spettacolo"). A stack of blank sheets in front of him, Webster's collegiate dictionary alongside, Ken thus begins his career as a writer, debuting with a poetic and bitter adventure set in the woods of Manitoba.
This is the first episode in which Ken, following his meeting with Ned Buntline, begins to narrate his own adventures.
