How placid is life in Stepford, among the terraced houses and the scent of the gardens! How perfect are Stepford women, faithful wives, housewives and model cooks! There's something wrong in Stepford! Everything looks like it came out of a postal sales catalogue, everything is shiny, glossy, synthetic. But something is coming to show the reality that lives beneath the plastic, and it's something as sharp as a razor blade! There is a dark stain in Inspector Bloch's past, a stain that re-emerges through the veil of the unconscious; an unsolved case and a vengeful specter that cannot find peace. Dylan must help his old friend defeat a relentless nightmare that feeds on monsters of the mind... There is no rest even in sleep, because dreams can kill! Little Danny Lloyd's toys are decidedly strange: huge fanged monsters, plates and bottles floating in mid-air, severed heads locked in the refrigerator. Drastic intervention is needed and Dylan seeks advice from the erudite Lord Wells, but the case remains intricate. What presence haunts Lloyd's house? The spirit of Danny's father, who died in a grisly suicide? An evil poltergeist? Or perhaps something even darker and more unnameable?
