Snaefellsjökull is considered by many to be a sacred place, a stone treasure chest which holds mysterious powers in its most remote tunnels, including that of awakening the dead from their sleep. In the wake of a series of inexplicable disappearances, which occurred in the desolate plains of Ice Island, Harlan and Kurjak are confronted with the enigma of Snaefellsjökull, with a criminal armed with an axe, who is believed to be possessed by Odin but in whom lives the spirit of a bloodthirsty murderer of the sixteenth century and with the deeds, handed down by an ancient saga, of two indomitable Viking warriors, exterminators of trolls and berserkers...
