A few months after the last clash with the Black Moon, Brendon is still looking for traces of the sorcerer Zeder, who disappeared in the collapse of the sect's sacred temple. Someone says they saw the friend of the Last Knight of Fortune re-emerge from the rubble, walking into the desert bringing with him the regenerated Black Serpent, the being venerated by the followers of the cult.
