Glorieta Pass After the columns dedicated to the films, videos and books of the year, this fifth Almanac of the West offers an article on the director Howard Hawks, one on the writer Zane Gray and one on the exploits of the famous Pinkerton Agency. In the comic story, the four pards are gathered in a night bivouac at the mouth of Apache Canyon, near the ruins of the Johnson Ranch, where the epic battle of Glorieta Pass ended. The discovery of a silver saber hilt, with a name engraved on it, reminds Tex of an episode that occurred in 1862, during the Civil War, when with "Damned" Dick he was a scout for the Northern troops and stopped a traffic in arms destined for the Indians, alongside a valiant lieutenant of the Confederation called Beau Danville!
