FANTÔMAS IN THE WEST

Like Fantomas, the famous character created by Allain and Souvestre, the "Jack of Spades" is a very skilled transformist who manages to take on the appearance of anyone (and our portrait presents him in one of his most successful "interpretations", that of the inept sheriff of the village of Corbin). The adventure in which he is the protagonist (numbers 46, 47 and 48) is full of twists and turns like a real "mystery", of which it has two classic elements: the mysterious assassin who "signs" his crimes (precisely with a jack of spades) and the investigation of the "detective" Zagor, perhaps less analytical than Sherlock Holmes but certainly more skilled with his fists and a gun. In short, a detective story "transformed" into a western.
