Popular prejudice, which has often portrayed Orientals as treacherous and unreliable, is soundly disproved by the wise and serene figure of Choo-Fan, one of the protagonists of the dramatic adventure in which Zagor searches for the priceless “Emperor’s Seal.” A cultured and refined art dealer, Choo-Fan owns an antique shop in the crowded and turbulent Chinatown of the port city of Norfolk, Virginia, which becomes the scene of a bloody feud between rival Asian gangs. With the help of the Spirit with the Hatchet, Choo-Fan becomes the leader of the entire Chinese community, emerging unharmed from the dark schemes of his cruel rival, Wong-Lot.
