As we have already had the opportunity to ascertain by cataloging the most important characters of Zagoria's epic, each Adventure needs two key figures, the Hero and the Antagonist, but also a dense congregation of supporting actors, including the Designated Victim. For Aline, the happy wife of a dear friend of Zagor, Albert Parkman, fate seems to have reserved just such a role: in fact, she is the favorite prey of Bela Rakosi, the ferocious vampire that Aline's father, the tireless Doctor Metrevelic, has been fighting in vain for years. Defeated for the first time by the King of Darkwood, Rakosi is reborn from his ashes to spread an epidemic in the town of Bergville that transforms the inhabitants into an army of the undead. And in the second clash with the Prince of Darkness, who has fallen madly in love with her, the young woman is saved at the last minute by the Hero of Tumo: our Zagor, of course!
