Raffaele Paparella (Carmagnola, 26 December 1915 – Tortona, 11 November 2001) was an Italian comics artist and illustrator. After earning a teaching diploma he briefly worked as a schoolteacher before turning to illustration; from 1936–1937 he produced sports and humorous drawings and contributed to the Catholic weekly Il Vittorioso and to Mondadori publications.
He debuted as a comics artist around 1940 with stories written by Gian Luigi Bonelli, including Il terrore del Colorado and I tre gigli in Il Vittorioso, beginning a notable working relationship with the Bonelli writer; he also illustrated episodes of Marco Valli and Ted. In 1949 he created, with Guido Martina, his greatest success, the popular western series Pecos Bill (Mondadori), followed by the western Oklahoma in 1952. He also drew for Topolino and appeared in L'Audace. From the mid-1960s until his retirement in the late 1980s he worked prolifically for the French publisher Lug (Marcel Navarro), his longest-running Lug series being Benny des Marais.
