Ivo Pavone (Taranto, 12 November 1929 – Venice, 20 November 2020) was an Italian comics artist and one of the historic figures of postwar Italian comics. After his family moved to Venice, during the war he met Hugo Pratt and joined the group of authors behind the magazine Asso di Picche, published by Uragano Comics, debuting as a comics artist in 1946. Invited by Pratt, he worked in Argentina from 1951 for the publisher Cesare Civita (Editorial Abril), drawing westerns and inking Pratt's Sergente Kirk.
Returning to Italy in 1962, he drew dozens of episodes of Pecos Bill for the Sepim publishing house and worked for the French market, notably the Rakar series for Lug. From 1979 until his retirement in 1983 he worked for Sergio Bonelli Editore, contributing to the publisher's western output, with occasional later work; his final story, Invasione!, appeared in Zona X.
