Giorgio Trevisan

Giorgio Trevisan

Giorgio Trevisan (Merano, October 13, 1934 - Monselice, October 5, 2024) was born in the Alto Adige region, where he lived until the age of twenty, earning his classical high school diploma.

Entirely self-taught, he was captivated at a very young age by a children's encyclopedia illustrated by English painters of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Throughout his career he therefore alternated his work in comics with painting, holding numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, the most prestigious in Ottawa, where he was invited by the Italian Embassy.

In 1957 he arrived in Milan, at the Studio Creazioni D'Ami, where he made his debut with an episode of the series "Cherry Brandy." He later moved to the English publisher Amalgamated Press, for which he produced the pencils of numerous war stories, later inked by artists such as Calegari, Di Gennaro, and Porciani. He went on to collaborate with various Italian and foreign publishers, drawing for, among others, "Corriere dei Piccoli" and "Il Messaggero di S. Antonio."

In the late 1970s he joined the staff of Ken Parker, for which he produced numerous episodes. Following Giancarlo Berardi, he then began drawing Julia, while continuing to alternate the adventures of the Garden City criminologist with comics for the foreign market.

He died on October 5, 2024, in Monselice, where he lived with his family.
