Alessandro Chiarolla

Alessandro Chiarolla

Alessandro Chiarolla (born September 11, 1942, in Mogadishu, then an Italian territory occupied by the British Army and today the capital of Somalia) studied accounting but, thanks to the mentorship of Renato Polese, ended up working as a comics artist.

In 1960 he joined the staff of Il Vittorioso, then collaborated until 1974 with foreign publishers such as the English Fleetway, the German Verlag, and the French Ratier. Alfredo Castelli brought him into collaborations first with Il Giornalino and later with the Corriere dei Ragazzi.

After brief stints at Edifumetto and Lancio, Chiarolla arrived at Sergio Bonelli Editore on the pages of Bella & Bronco, before moving on to Martin Mystère and then Zagor.
